USS Bataan
United States
Приєднався 23 вер 2013
USS Bataan (LHD 5) was commissioned September 20, 1997. Bataan is the fifth ship in the Wasp class of United States Navy multipurpose amphibious assault ships. The mission of Bataan is to enable the Navy and Marine Corps team to accomplish a seamless transition “… from the sea” to the land battle, as the lead ship and centerpiece of an Amphibious Readiness Group (ARG). A multi-mission ARG is capable of amphibious assault, advance force, and special purpose operations, as well as non-combatant evacuation and other humanitarian assistance missions.
LHDs embark, transport, deploy, command and fully support all elements of a Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) of 2,000 Marines, inserting forces ashore via helicopters, landing craft and amphibious vehicles. The Wasp class ships are the first ships specifically designed to utilize landing craft air-cushion vehicles (LCACs) for assault. LHDs can accommodate the full range of Navy and Marine Corps helicopters, conventional landing craft and amphi

I made my own plan to get off the ship once I mustered. I let 3 of my buddies in my life boat in on it too. Because you’re right, it would be complete madness
Hey I went to A school with green jersey I don't remember her name though. Great video ABH1!
First class all around
Nice video! Thank you.
This tiedown has been used for 30 years? That is the exact same design used in '81, 42 years ago, and not new then!
Honestly, the tamest "rock" concert I've ever witnessed. This is our military bring on FFDP!
25 years strong still. Did 99 thru 04 there my home. Miss her
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟👍👍👍👍👍👆👆👆👆👆🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Loving this in 2022 and forever.
Hank Pfister was a great man.

If you don't have anything to say play stupid music....
Ive done this trip on that exact ship during its maiden voyage
This reminds me of that one mission in the video-game called Battlefield 4 , I believe the last mission of the game is the USS Essex (LHD2) entering a deathtrap inside the suez canal and you could see the same exact bridge as in 0:10 . Anywho may God bless & protect everyone onboard the Bataan !
April 1948… what’s the date
Small LCU
Too fast make a real time vidieo
Hey i got filters for you with fuel, can you takem? Hehe
I see this ship everyday in Norfolk, Wasp is also in eyeshot probably getting the same type of fix up.
I was on both of them. Work ups on the wasp. Bataan Feb-Oct 2014. Long deployment.

These videos have been great! Thank you’
I subscribe
Soooooooo coooooooo ! Go Navy!
Very helpful!
There is no way in hell it would be this orderly if they really did have to abandon ship. Everyone would be hauling ass to get the hell off that thing as fast as possible by any means available. Keep in mind that if they had to abandon ship then something has gone horrifically wrong; the ship is likely irreparably damaged, either through a catastrophic accident or enemy attack.
The point of the drills is to reduce the amount of chaos that would arise from panic, it won't eliminate it but it's better than them not knowing what to do or where to go at all
My hubby said they mad them jump in water..it was cold and scary.bastrereds
The name is actually the same as a province here in the Philippines, starting to question the name.. Edit: Her names sake is to honor the Defence of Bataan Peninsula (Province of the Philippines) back in the 40s.
dumbass sailors, first of all, get someone who can talk clearly. I don't care what his rank is, E1 now, until he can properly speak. YOU JUST ENDANGERED your crew. When your ship sinks then you will realize, you should of taken the drill seriously. BOBBY CV64, BTW, you also probably have no idea what happened in BATAAN, which is pronounced BA A TAN.
Hello guys komusta wow nice beautiful video mo welcome ka sa house ko thanks po god bless
Go see the world people, good and bad you'll never experienced anything like this. I'd wish I was younger again.
This Concert Rocks
Is this a wasp class
What's the bgm name
I served on USS Wasp LHD 1 2000-03
Outstanding! Excellent job of showing just what COMTUEX is all about!! BZ1
DUMBASSES, I was in the USN and guess what, you NEVER NEVER have someone who CANNOT SPEAK CLEAR ENGLISH ON AN ABANDON SHIP. I get these types on messages on my cell phone, e.g. "My phone number is "8329483290480324" RAPID FIRE. I don't even try to decipher the message, they will call me back. Captain you have been relieved.
I'm not a military or War fan, but I would salute them any time anywhere. I'm 48 and I have no doubt that any one of those guys could kick my ass.
Death by slow cancer to the producers for the overly loud MUZAK!
I was on two ship LPH-5 and LPD-8. EN 3. 1968-1972 Go Navy 🇱🇷
Can't believe it's been over 20 years. I'm a plank owner. She's come a long way.
watching sailors be happy always makes me feel happy
Wrong title. This vessel is being floated into a floating dock, which in turn will be deballasted to lift the USS Bataan out of the water. A dry dock is an enclosure with a gate or Caisson at one end. Enclosure filled with water, gate open, vessel floated in the centered over the blocks, caisson floated into place and sunk or gate closed, water pumped out or removed resulting in the vessel taking to the blocks. (sitting on the blocks high and dry). Its all about the terminology.
cool xD ^^
You never want to tie an aircraft with a rope into slipknot manner or your Captain will be upset. This one of the things you'll learn in Navy Boot Camp.
I like this video. It's really good, learned more than the actual navy LS video they made. I ship out for LS in 4 weeks(April 1st). I pumped after watching this video learning more about it.
Howd it go? I ship to boot August as a LS
Where was this dry dock
Norfolk.
8:16 I don't see any women and children. IOW they were *economic* "refugees", not "they're going to kill me" refugees.
I'm too old for that really irritating music. Watching it on mute is good, though.
